One thing that will never cease to perplex me is how there can simultaneously be vacant homes and apartments and a significant homeless population.  One can old imagine how such an absurd situation can even occur especially in the wealthier nations.  Leave it to economic greed and heartlessness to create unaffordable living conditions, permit gentrification of entire neighborhoods and continue to raise costs of renting or owning a home.  This practice is sickening especially considering entire families being forced to dwell on the streets with young children and older folks included.  Also, one can only imagine the arduous near impossibility of attempting to secure any type of sustainable employment with a living wage.  This is not even to mention the many dangers associated with street life along with the malnutrition and increased likelihood of alcohol abuse and drug usage if not addiction.  One can only hope for the best but hope fails to fill stomachs or provide housing.
